About Ever Rise Care & Consulting
When I Fall, I Shall Rise
Rejoice not over me, O my enemy;
when I fall, I shall rise;
when I sit in darkness,
the LORD will be a light to me.
9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD
because I have sinned against him,
until he pleads my cause
and executes judgment for me.
He will bring me out to the light;
I shall look upon his vindication.
(Micah 7:8-9)
We are people who ever rise. Our definition of self is not formed by the falls we experience in life, but rather the rising the Lord brings about through His love, grace, and strength. We are not people defined by the Fall, but rather by the Resurrection.
This provides us good caution in how we interact with our clients. We must be careful not to frame them up according to their difficulties. We need to see them as God does, as new creations made righteous in Christ. The darkness in their lives is real, but it is not the main truth about who they are.
Though we may sit in seasons of darkness of our own making, even there we will find the light of our Savior shining. The darkness will tempt us and our clients to believe there is no hope, that the dawn of daylight will never come. But we know our Lord will come, plead our case, and walk us into His marvelous light.
How sweet it is to know what Christ has done. To know that though the accusations of the enemy are at times accurate, they cannot stick to us. Our old self has been buried with Christ. Our sin covered in His blood. Our righteousness secured by His perfect fulfillment of the law. The penalty that was our due has been paid.
Considering this, we must be wary of navigating our difficulties and the challenges of our clients by our own wisdom and strength. Micah reminds us it is God who will plead our case and justify us. He will bring us into the light when it is time. Our job is to wait patiently, full of faith trusting His provision will be sufficient and perfectly timed.
